Psychology One Danielle Adams

Danielle Adams                                    
​Clinical Psychologist

Danielle is a Clinical Psychologist and has a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) from the University of Newcastle. She has over 15 years experience working in a range of mental health settings, including hospital, community and primary healthcare. ​Danielle has published a number of papers relating to the treatments of mood disorders.
​
Danielle has experience working with adults and older adolescents across a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, perinatal mental health, substance use, behavioural, grief and adjustment issues. Her treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational and Solution-focused strategies, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Danielle has completed a Professional Doctorate in Clinical and Health Psychology after finishing an Honours degree in Psychology at the University of Newcastle. Danielle has experience in a range of areas such as depression, anxiety, stress management, self-esteem and adjustment.
​
​Danielle has a passion for clinical health psychology and client well-being. She enjoys working with those with health issues, including cancer and diabetes, and with those who would like assistance with the psychology of weight loss. Danielle takes a compassion-focussed approach to her work and uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness based interventions.

Jane is a Clinical Psychologist with over 23 years experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults. She has an extensive background in the impact of trauma. She enjoys working with adults who  are experiencing a variety of mental health issues. She believes in supporting her clients to build and live fulfilling and satisfying lives. She has a particular interest professional supervision.

Psychology One Kathy Dynon

Dr Kathy Dynon                                     
​Clinical Psychologist

Kathy has a  Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is passionate about reducing suffering and increasing wellbeing in individuals, families, organisations and communities. Kathy has worked across a variety of settings including public mental health and drug and alcohol services, universities, schools, the disability sector, the corporate sector and in private practice. Kathy predominantly practices “third wave” Cognitive Behaviour Therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Functional Analytical Psychotherapy (FAP).
​ 

Kathy sees a diverse range of clients across the lifespan, with presenting issues including addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, and relationship or workplace difficulties. Kathy also enjoys working with people in executive/leadership positions, and delivering training to organisations and schools about improving our psychological health, and sense of meaning and connection.

Belinda is a Clinical Psychologist who has over 17 years working with children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing a wide range of difficulties and mental health issues.  Belinda enjoys working with clients from all age groups and is experienced in addressing many psychological issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, adjustment issues and grief and loss.
​
Belinda has a particular expertise in helping people to recover from trauma and has extensive experience in this area. Belinda also provides professional supervision and promotes reflection in clinical practice.

​Clinical Psychologist

Peita has completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology and is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society.  Peita has over 10 years experience working with adolescents, families and adults in a variety of fields including occupational rehabilitation, private practice, inpatient and outpatient mental health, corrections, and non-for-profit organisations.
​
Peita prides herself in providing a client-centred therapy approach, using numerous modalities, and specialises in working with adolescents and their families.
Peita is experienced in working with adolescents and adults across a range of presenting issues including depression, bullying, anxiety, alcohol & drug use, anger, self harm, suicidal ideation, grief & loss, and trauma. 

Psychology One Alison Healey

Alison Healey                                          
​Clinical Psychologist

Alison has over 10 years experience working with a range of psychological presentations in private practice, as well as specialist sexual assault and drug and alcohol services.  She has a passionate interest in working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma and also finds inspiration from working with clients through anxiety, depression and grief/loss.
​Alison is client focussed and flexible using a range of therapeutic interventions; however she particularly enjoys working within the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Trauma Focussed Therapy frameworks.

​Registered Psychologist

Sophie is a Registered Psychologist and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society.  She  completed her undergraduate degree BSc  at the University of NSW and a Masters of Arts (Psychology) at Sydney University.  Sophie has been working in non-government clinical settings for 12 years and has experience in  assisting individuals with  depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress and trauma, pain management issues, relationship issues, family and work difficulties. Sophie has a special interest in working with  children, adolescents,  and  families.

Psychology One Jayne Lewis

Dr Gali Lawrence                                          
​Clinical Psychologist

Gali is a clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience working in a range of settings. These include chronic pain and illness, eating disorders and oncology, as well as general emotional health including depression, anxiety and trauma.
 
She is passionate about supporting people to move through their suffering to become empowered. Gali has had training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness and has recently developed a clinical interest in Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy and is about to embark on a 3 year training in intensive short term dynamic psychotherapy.

Jayne Lewis                                      
​Registered Psychologist

Jayne is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and has a vast range of experience from working in local government settings for 13 years before moving into private practice, which she has enjoyed since 2006.  Jayne enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults across a variety of developmental, behavioural and psychological issues.
​ 
​Jayne has a particular interest in working with teenagers, and working with children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Natalie has over 13 years experience  and enjoys working with adults and older adults who may be struggling with depression, anxiety disorders, stress, loss & grief, adjustment, relationship issues and work-related concerns.

​Natalie has a special interest in perinatal mental health and supporting people who may be struggling to conceive or going through assisted fertility, pregnancy and antenatal difficulties, birth trauma, premature birth, perinatal loss, postnatal difficulties, struggles with bonding and adjusting to new parenthood. 

Natalie draws from a range of therapy approaches, including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy and attachment therapies.

Karen has over 25 years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist within a range of mental health, sexual assault, community health and oncology-based services. Karen has developed an expertise in working with adolescents across many of her roles and loves working with adults as well.
​
Karen is committed to providing effective, evidence based, practical and realistic interventions for a broad range of clinical presentations. She is particularly trained in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused and Narrative Therapy styles. Her professional interests are working with people adjusting to changes in health, particularly cancer, assisting young people move through adolescence, general sleep issues and helping people to find the joy in their lives.

​Ashleigh is a Clinical Psychologist with a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) degree from the University of Newcastle. Ashleigh enjoys working with individuals with a range of presentations including anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, relationship problems and substance use problems. She has particular interest in working with children and families, and perinatal mental health. 
​
Ashleigh’s prioritises creating a respectful and collaborative therapeutic relationship, through which meaningful change can occur. Ashleigh primarily utilises Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and attachment-focused family approaches.

Camille enjoys helping people to set goals, build motivation, and also manage stress or change. Camille has interest in working with individuals and couples across the lifespan, who might be experiencing depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, substance use, grief, loss, trauma, relationship concerns, or chronic health concerns.

​Camille has worked in primary and tertiary health care settings in suicide prevention and oncology, and works from frameworks including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Kristie has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and has worked with both young people and adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including more complex mental health problems. She has worked together with clients for many years who are experiencing family and relationships problems, loss and trauma, mental health difficulties such as mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, drug and alcohol use difficulties or personality difficulties.

​She is comfortable working with individuals, couples, families or groups with a variety of therapy models including cognitive and behavioural, mindfulness and acceptance and family based therapies.

Shivani is a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychologist, with over 14 years experience. She has trained at specialist services for anxiety and trauma in London, UK. She has experience in a range of inpatient, community and NGO settings in Australia.
 
Shivani has an interest in anxiety and worry problems, mood disorders, and traumatic stress in adults and adolescents.  She is a specialist in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
 
Originally from Sydney, Shivani is enjoying making Newcastle home with her young family. 

Psychology One Phoebe Webber

Dr Phoebe Webber                             
Clinical Psychologist

Phoebe has completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Newcastle. She has over 15 experience working with individuals and groups with a wide range of difficulties. The majority of her career has been spent working in the mental health sector for Hunter New England Local Health District with late adolescents and adults who have diagnoses of depression, anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar affective disorder, borderline personality disorder, and eating disorders.

​She has experience with a range of therapeutic modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Conversational Model therapy.

Kylie Bailey
Clinical Psychologist

Kylie is a Senior Clinical Psychologist and has a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) as well as a PhD (Psychiatry) from the University of Newcastle. She has over 20 years experience working in addiction, mental health and post traumatic stress disorder. ​Kylie has developed and published a treatment manual as well as presented at conferences and published a number of papers on treatment of alcohol and other drug use and comorbid mental health disorders (including trauma).
​
Kylie works with older adolescents and adults across a wide range of issues including alcohol and other drug use, trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder and adjustment issues. Her treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotional Freedom Technique and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.


Alex Stuart
Clinical Psychologist

Alex is a Clinical Psychologist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology. Alex has a particular interest in working with adolescents and adults who use drugs and alcohol. Alex also enjoys working with adolescents and adults with a range of presentations including anxiety, depression, personality vulnerabilities, bullying, anger, self-harm, suicidal ideation, grief and loss, trauma, relationship issues and adjustment difficulties. Alex has experience working with adolescents, families and adults in a primary care setting, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and headspace.
 
Alex utilises a client-centred approach with all clients, yet adopts a number of different therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and attachment-focused approaches. 


Sarah Swanson

Clinical Psychologist

Sarah has over fifteen years experience in working with children and adults with a wide range of presenting issues, with a background in both specialist child and generalist health settings. Sarah enjoys working with children and adults for psychological, parenting, and relationship issues using a number of therapeutic interventions such as acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, family therapy, positive parenting and attachment-based therapies.

​She is also very experienced and passionate about supervision, including supervising other Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists, and Clinical Psychologist Registrars. Sarah also works for a not-for-profit organisation and does some lecturing for the University of Newcastle.

Melinda Vardanega 
Clinical Psychologist

Melinda is a Clinical Psychologist with a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Newcastle. She has worked with people across the lifespan experiencing a range of psychological difficulties such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, substance use problems, relationship issues and trauma. She has a particular interest in working with people with eating, weight and body image related difficulties.   

Melinda takes a collaborative approach to empower and motivate people to reach their goals. She utilises a number of evidence-based psychological therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
