Emergency Resources

You don’t need to face problems alone. Help is always available.
 
Please note that, whilst we care and will do whatever we can to help you, Psychology One is not an emergency service. If you are in need of urgent support there are a number of services (detailed below) that are there to help you 24 hours a day, every day.
 
If you require emergency support or are at risk of harm, please contact 000 or attend your nearest hospital emergency department. Please don’t delay in seeking support – you and your life matter, and help is available.

Mental Health Line

The Mental Health Line is staffed by mental health professionals and are there 24 hours a day to provide mental health advice and support for people dealing with mental health problems. They can also assist you with locating mental health crisis or acute care services in your local area.

Suicide Call Back Service

The Suicide Call Back Service is a service that provides telephone support and online counselling for anyone in need, and they are available 24 hours a day, every day. They are able to offer support to:
  • People who are feeling suicidal or at risk of harm
  • People who are caring for someone who is suicidal
  • People who have lost someone to suicide and are bereaved
 
The Suicide Call Back Service provides immediate telephone counselling and support for those who are in crisis. They can they also offer an additional six telephone counselling sessions with the same counsellor scheduled at times best suited to your needs. Professional counsellors who have specialised skills in working with suicide-related issues are available to assist with working through difficult emotions, and will help you with linking you to additional services in your area.

Providing one-on-one chats with a trained mental health professional to discuss your concerns – both big and small. When something isn't quite right, you've got something on your mind, or things just seem too much.

Kids Helpline is a free 24/7 phone and online counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25 years old. Specially trained counsellors who have experience in supporting children, teens and young adults are available by phone, email or webchat to talk to about anything that is troubling you.

Lifeline is a confidential telephone support service that is available 24 hours a day, every day. Trained telephone counsellors are ready to listen, provide support and help you locate support services in your area.
 
Lifeline also offers online and face-to-face crisis support and suicide prevention services.
