Danielle Adams                                    
​Clinical Psychologist

Danielle is a Clinical Psychologist and has a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) from the University of Newcastle. She has over 15 years experience working in a range of mental health settings, including hospital, community and primary healthcare. ​Danielle has published a number of papers relating to the treatments of mood disorders.
​
Danielle has experience working with adults and older adolescents across a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, perinatal mental health, substance use, behavioural, grief and adjustment issues. Her treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational and Solution-focused strategies, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Dr Danielle Anthony           ​
​Clinical & Health Psychologist

Danielle has completed a Professional Doctorate in Clinical and Health Psychology after finishing an Honours degree in Psychology at the University of Newcastle. Danielle is passionate about the field of psychology, loves learning and finds joy in making a difference. She has experience in a range of areas such as depression, anxiety and adjustment and works across public and private settings.
​
​Danielle has a passion for clinical health psychology and believes that health encompasses both mental and physical health, understanding there is a strong interplay between the two. She enjoys working with those with chronic illness including cancer, cystic fibrosis and diabetes. She is experienced in working with those with respiratory conditions and sleep difficulties. Danielle also works with patients to manage stress and anxiety prior to surgery to help optimise surgical outcomes. She also works with other conditions such as Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
 
Danielle enjoys working with those in the healthcare profession, including doctors and nurses, who experience unique challenges and stress. Therapy for healthcare professionals can be helpful in a proactive way to maintain good mental health, in response to a particular stressor or when symptoms of burnout appear.
 
Danielle takes a compassion-focussed approach to her work and uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Schema Therapy and mindfulness-based interventions. 

​Dr Kylie Bailey
Snr Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Associate Professor

Kylie is a Senior Clinical Psychologist and has a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) as well as a PhD (Psychiatry) from the University of Newcastle. She has over 25 years experience working in addiction, pain, mental health and post traumatic stress disorder. ​Kylie has developed and published a treatment manual as well as presented at conferences and published a number of papers on treatment of alcohol and other drug use and comorbid mental health disorders (including trauma).
​
Kylie works with older adolescents and adults across a wide range of issues including alcohol and other drug use, trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder and adjustment issues. Her treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotional Freedom Technique, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

Dr Laura Bailey
Clinical Psychologist

Laura is a Clinical Psychologist who has completed a Professional Doctorate of Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Newcastle. Laura has over 10 years of experience and enjoys working with adults across a range of presenting issues including depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment difficulties, chronic illness, substance use, perinatal mental health issues, suicidal ideation and self harm.

​Laura uses a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Schema Therapy.

Clinical Psychologist

Phil is a Clinical Psychologist and has a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) from the University of Newcastle. He has over 25 years experience working in a range of mental health settings, including Mental Health, Community Health, as well as with Open Arms Veterans & Families Counselling Service. In the last 15 years, Philip has worked in the primary care setting at Hunter Primary Care, delivering clinical services and more recently management services.

Philip has experience working with adults across a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, substance use, anger management, grief and adjustment issues. His treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapies.

Emma Cook
Clinical Psychology Registrar

Emma has completed a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She has over nine years experience working clinically with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including private practice, community health, youth justice and the disability sector.
​

Emma has a particular interest working with mood disturbances, anxiety, stress, self-esteem and adjustment issues. Her treatment approaches include, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational and Solution-focused strategies and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Emma takes a client centred approach in therapy with an emphasis on working collaboratively with her clients in order to move towards meaningful change.

She enjoys working with adults who  are experiencing a variety of mental health issues. She believes in supporting her clients to build and live fulfilling and satisfying lives. She has a particular interest professional supervision.

Dr Kathy Dynon

Kathy has a  Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is passionate about reducing suffering and increasing wellbeing in individuals, families, organisations and communities. Kathy has worked across a variety of settings including public mental health and drug and alcohol services, universities, schools, the disability sector, the corporate sector and in private practice. Kathy predominantly practices “third wave” Cognitive Behaviour Therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Functional Analytical Psychotherapy (FAP).

Kathy sees a diverse range of clients across the lifespan, with presenting issues including addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, and relationship or workplace difficulties. Kathy also enjoys working with people in executive/leadership positions, and delivering training to organisations and schools about improving our psychological health, and sense of meaning and connection.  

Belinda Edwards

Belinda is a Clinical Psychologist who has over 17 years working with children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing a wide range of difficulties and mental health issues.  Belinda enjoys working with clients from all age groups and is experienced in addressing many psychological issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, adjustment issues and grief and loss.

Belinda has a particular expertise in helping people to recover from trauma and has extensive experience in this area. Belinda also provides professional supervision and promotes reflection in clinical practice.

Amanda is a clinical psychologist who has completed a Master of Clinical Psychology at The University of Newcastle. She has over 12 years experience in the primary health setting in both clinical and mentoring roles. Amanda enjoys working with adults across a broad range of mental health concerns including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, substance use, suicidal ideation, stress, relationship difficulties, perinatal mental health, grief and loss, adjustment and attachment difficulties.

Amanda uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, DBT Skills, and mindfulness techniques. She has a warm and genuine therapeutic style, and enjoys working collaboratively with clients to better understand challenges they may face, improve wellbeing and enhance life fulfilment.

Peita has completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology and is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society.  Peita has over 15 years experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of fields including occupational rehabilitation, private practice, inpatient and outpatient mental health, corrections, and non-for-profit organisations.

Peita prides herself in providing a client-centred therapy approach, using numerous modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT and solution focused therapy.
Peita is experienced in working with adults across a range of presenting issues including depression, anxiety, alcohol & drug use, anger, self harm, suicidal ideation, grief & loss, and trauma.

Alison has over 10 years experience working with a range of psychological presentations in private practice, as well as specialist sexual assault and drug and alcohol services.  She has a passionate interest in working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma and also finds inspiration from working with clients through anxiety, depression and grief/loss.
​Alison is client focussed and flexible using a range of therapeutic interventions; however she particularly enjoys working within the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Trauma Focussed Therapy frameworks.

Sophie is a Registered Psychologist and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society.  She  completed her undergraduate degree BSc  at the University of NSW and a Masters of Arts (Psychology) at Sydney University.  Sophie has been working in non-government clinical settings for 12 years and has experience in  assisting individuals with  depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress and trauma, pain management issues, relationship issues, family and work difficulties. Sophie has a special interest in working with  children, adolescents,  and  families.

Dr Gali Lawrence                                          
​Clinical Psychologist

Gali is a clinical psychologist with 20 years of experience. She has a strong interest in chronic pain, medically unexplained symptoms and functional neurological disorder; as well as psychological trauma, stress, substance use, adjustment issues, anxiety and depression. 
 
As well as being trained in mindfulness-based approaches, she utilises emotion focused therapies including Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET) and Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP).  ISTDP is a psychodynamic therapy that aims to get to the root cause of difficulties. The therapy is evidence-based, emotion-focused, and experiential.

Jayne has over 25 years experience as a psychologist in a range of private practice and government settings. Jayne enjoys working with teenagers and adults with a variety of presenting issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment issues, grief and loss, and relationship or workplace difficulties. 
 
Jayne uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, DBT skills and mindfulness techniques. Jayne also has a particular interest in intellectual disability and working with neurodivergent teens and adults.

Karen has over 25 years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist within a range of mental health, sexual assault, community health, and oncology-based services. 

Karen is committed to providing effective, evidence based, practical and realistic interventions for a broad range of clinical presentations. She is particularly trained in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution Focused and Narrative Therapy styles.
​
Her professional interests are working with people adjusting to changes in health, particularly cancer; general sleep issues and helping people to find the joy in their lives. She has been very interested in the emerging area of assisting women during their perimenopause to post-menopause transition.

Dr Amy Oswald
Clinical Psychologist

Dr Amy Oswald holds a Doctorate of Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Newcastle. She has more than 13 years' experience in the assessment and treatment of a range of mental health issues affecting children, adolescents, and adults in both public and private treatment settings.

Amy has a specific interest and expertise in the treatment of psychological aspects of chronic health conditions. She has previously worked in a major public teaching hospital, where she provided clinical assessment and interventions to patients and carers of the advanced gastrointestinal surgical service. Amy was also involved in advancing clinical research in this area. Amy also has particular interest and experience in working with health care professionals to support them with the challenges faced in their treatment roles, including: trauma, long working hours, grief and loss, and burnout.

Amy practices several different therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing techniques. Amy views psychological therapy as a collaborative process between the psychologist and client in which self-awareness can grow and lead to powerful changes in life.

Amy is a Psychology Board approved supervisor and thoroughly enjoys all aspects of clinical supervision.

Ashleigh Pasculli ​

​Ashleigh is a Clinical Psychologist with a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) degree from the University of Newcastle. Ashleigh enjoys working with individuals with a range of presentations including anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, relationship problems and substance use problems. She has particular interest in working with children and families, and perinatal mental health. 
​
Ashleigh’s prioritises creating a respectful and collaborative therapeutic relationship, through which meaningful change can occur. Ashleigh primarily utilises Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, 
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and attachment-focused family approaches.

Camille enjoys helping people to set goals, build motivation, and also manage stress or change. Camille has interest in working with individuals and couples across the lifespan, who might be experiencing depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, substance use, grief, loss, trauma, relationship concerns, or chronic health concerns.

​Camille has worked in primary and tertiary health care settings in suicide prevention and oncology, and works from frameworks including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Psychology One Kristie Saultry

Kristie has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and has worked with both young people and adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including more complex mental health problems. She has worked together with clients for many years who are experiencing a wide range of difficulties including trauma, mental health difficulties such as mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, dissociative disorders, psychotic disorders, drug and alcohol use difficulties, or personality difficulties. She also works with individuals experiencing loss and grief, relationship troubles or health difficulties.

​She is comfortable working with a variety of therapy models including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapies including CBT-E, Compassion, Acceptance and Mindfulness Based Therapies and has an interest in trauma informed and psychoanalytic based approaches. 

Kristie is also interested in supervising other registered psychologists and clinical psychologists and consultation work with other clinicians.

Clinical Psychologist

Alex is a Clinical Psychologist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology. Alex has a particular interest in working with adolescents and adults who use drugs and alcohol. Alex also enjoys working with adolescents and adults with a range of presentations including anxiety, depression, personality vulnerabilities, bullying, anger, self-harm, suicidal ideation, grief and loss, trauma, relationship issues and adjustment difficulties. Alex has experience working with adolescents, families and adults in a primary care setting, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and headspace.
 
Alex utilises a client-centred approach with all clients, yet adopts a number of different therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and attachment-focused approaches.

Clinical Psychologist

Sarah is a clinical psychologist with over twenty years of experience in working with children and adults with a wide range of presenting issues, with a background in both specialist and generalist child and adult health and non-for-profit settings. Sarah enjoys working with children and adults for psychological, parenting, and relationship issues using a number of therapeutic interventions such as acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, EMDR, positive parenting, family therapy,  and attachment-based therapies. She has been trained in and has run the Westmead Feelings Program group for children over the past couple of years. She is also very experienced and passionate about providing supervision.
 
Sarah currently also works for the University of Newcastle where she teaches and supervises into the Master of Clinical Psychology program, which also includes running an outreach psychology program (with a team of postgraduate clinical psychology students) to a local school.
 
Sarah provides telehealth (video and phone) therapy and supervision sessions on Tuesdays, and comes into the Psychology One office for face-to-face sessions on Wednesdays. She currently works one Saturday a month.

Dr Martina Zangger (She/Her)                     
​Clinical Social Worker

Dr. Martina Zangger is a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Social Worker, has a Master’s Degree in Couple and Family Therapy, and a PhD specialising in the field of interpersonal violence, assisting clients on their journey of healing and recovery from trauma.
Martina is an accredited Victims of Crime Counsellor and is passionate about providing long- and short-term counselling and trauma-informed therapy for those who have been affected by domestic violence and/or sexual abuse/assault.
​Martina is dedicated to help improve clients’ quality of life through empathic, hopeful, positive and evidence-based counselling interventions. She makes use of mindfulness, EMDR and trauma-informed therapeutic interventions, allowing clients to find freedom and healing from adverse life events.


Martina regularly co-facilitates a 4-week Gentle and Trauma-Informed Yoga Group for Women, together with Yoga Teacher Heather Foat, who has expertise in mental health and a special interest in working with women.

Reggie
Therapy Dog

Reggie is our beautiful therapy dog. He will keep you company in the waiting room when he’s not providing comfort and support while in session with his owner Martina Zangger. He loves welcoming our clients to the practice and won’t say no to a good belly rub and loves being spoiled with lots of attention.
